THE regime governing the United States, led by Donald Trump, has reportedly bombed the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, in an illegal and deplorable escalation of the ongoing tensions caused by the Trump regime.
At 2:18am local time (6:18pm AEDT), the regime's warplanes began bombing civilian areas and military installations across Caracas, cutting out power across much of the city and leaving many locations destroyed.
The US regime has been attempting to undermine the Venezuelan government for many years, with a reward of $50 million USD (approx. $75 million) available for information 'leading to the capture' of Venezuela's President, Nicolás Maduro since 2019. The organisations surrounding the US have additionally been ramping up tensions in recent months, with US-backed 'opposition' member María Corina Machado awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, despite her actively supporting war, and being supported by less than 10% of the population of Venezuela. Several weeks ago, the United States also began actively seizing oil tankers in Venezuelan waters, dropping the pretense of anti-drug operations.
The United States' campaign against Venezuela comes on the back of several losses for the left in South America, the most notable of which being the victory of the far-right in Bolivia, ending 20 years of MAS government, and the victory of a supporter of Pinochet in Chile.
This most recent action is the first time that the United States has actively bombed Venezuela's sovereign territory, and has been condemned by both members of the Venezuelan Maduro government, as well as several of Venezuela's neighbours, including Colombia.
Following initial strikes in Caracas, the US regime bombed several sites in the states of La Guaira, Miranda and Aragua.
Following the first round of strikes, the Venezuelan government declared a national emergency, and escalated preparations to arm the people for the defence of the people's state.
This publication strongly condemns all actions against Venezuela's democratically elected government, and will continue to cover the unfolding situation in Venezuela as more details come to light.
