Troy Stolz, known for his gambling reform advocacy, has joined the far-right party in opposition to gun reform in the wake of the Bondi terrorist attack

FORMER Clubs NSW whistleblower and current Upper Hunter Shire councillor Troy Stolz, known for his drawn-out legal battle against Clubs NSW, has joined far-right party One Nation.
Stolz, who has been battling cancer since 2023, was until 2019 Clubs NSW's anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism unit leader, when he leaked confidential Clubs reporting and lost his job.
Following the conclusion of legal action by Clubs in 2023, Stolz has seen little public interest in his other ventures, however was elected as a councillor in the Upper Hunter Shire with just over 10% of the vote in the 2024 New South Wales local council elections.
Following the Bondi Beach terrorist attack, Stolz has used his position as a councillor and a man with some level of trust among the anti-corruption movement, to join the far-right One Nation political party, led by Pauline Hanson.
In a statement, Stolz accused Labor and the Liberal and National Parties (which he refers to as the 'LNP') of being a 'uniparty', and argued that the gun legislation passed following the terrorist attack was 'knee-jerk', despite it being the only clear way to stop further attacks like that of Bondi.
He additionally stated that One Nation is 'on the rise', despite its polling numbers noticeably dropping in previous months as Hanson regains the notoriety that she once had.
Stolz is the second notable figure in as many months to join the far-right party, after Barnaby Joyce in early December, however this influx seems to be harming the minor party, rather than helping it, as polling has shown Joyce's credibility to have fallen off a cliff since his joining of One Nation, and simultaneously, the Party has lost standing with the people.
Stolz, who achieved fame through coverage on popular YouTuber Friendlyjordies' YouTube channel, is among many platformed by the Labor-aligned influencer to find their political home on the far-right, including other gun advocacy organisations including the Shooters', Fishers' and Farmers' Party, which the YouTube personality has repeatedly endorsed.
