NINE pseudo-leftist and revisionist parties in Nepal have merged to form the 'Nepali Communist Party'. This party, now the largest in the nation's National Assembly, has an ideology based on the watering down of the science of Marxism, under so-called 'People's Multiparty Democracy'.
This Party is led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal, better known as Prachanda, the man that sold out the revolution to the Monarchy in 2005 and 2006, and, despite paying lip service to the principles of Leninism, it is vehemently opposed to the major points made by Lenin to build upon Marxism, chief among them the role of the vanguard party.
Unfortunately, despite a historically large support base for the left in Nepal, that has seemingly evaporated since the years of the civil war, with the 'Communist' parties infiltrated by careerist politicians and corrupt, wealthy bureaucrats.
Prachanda has additionally been unable to do the most basic thing and condemn genocide, both-sidesing the genocide of the Palestinian people in statements since 7 October 2023.
Nepal is currently governed by an interim government, after the previous government was overthrown by youth protestors in September, and the Party in government before September, despite not being a member of the new 'Communist' Party, illustrates the broader issue with the Nepali left: that Party had been entirely captured by the rich, and did not seriously advocate any communist, or even left-wing policies. This issue is extremely prevalent across all of the scattered leaderships of Nepal's 'left'-wing organisations, and can only be solved by an entirely new socialist organisation, opposed to 'People's Multiparty Democracy', 'Prachanda Path' and other anti-proletarian trends.
