VENEZUELAN President Nicolás Maduro has spent his first full night in a United States prison, following his illegal kidnapping by the US regime.
Mr Maduro, who the US regime falsely accuses of leading a drug cartel, is expected to face a show trial in New York City on Monday local time for the crime of opposing US imperialism.
Maduro and his wife are currently being held captive in the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, the same prison that Luigi Mangione was once held in. The prison has been repeatedly condemned for its inhumane treatment of its prisoners, and has been described as a 'hell on earth' by observers.
The illegal US action in Venezuela relied on a lack of loyalty to the Bolivarian Revolution among senior members of the Venezuelan government, evidenced by statements by the US regime since the kidnapping.
This disloyalty has not eventuated, thankfully, and the Venezuelan government maintains full control of Venezuela at the time of writing.
Protests have erupted across the world, with supporters of peace, led by the small Red Spark collective, challenging the anti-democratic measures against all protest in Sydney on Sunday. 200 individuals courageously disobeyed the legislation and turned out to make a clear statement.
The Albanese government has issued an extremely disappointing statement in response, urging a 'peaceful transition', ignoring the illegal nature of the kidnapping.
